Information Technology (IT) Specialist

Randolph County is looking to hire an Information Technology (IT) Specialist. This exciting position is for a computer support and security administrator who assists with managing hardware, software, networking, purchasing, and solving problems for the office holders and employees who work in Randolph County Government. The Specialist will enjoy working with staff who provide customer support in offices including the General Courthouse, Court System, Sheriff’s Office, Care Center, Health Department, and Highway Department.

The Specialist will provide technical assistance to computer system users and will answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from remote locations. The Specialist will help staff with the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.

The applicant must have either an associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with experience working in the field. The job will require the following:

Computer users need support 24/7, and therefore the Specialist must be available to work during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. The employee must hold residency in beautiful Randolph County. Pay is commensurate with education and experience. The benefit package includes comprehensive health and life insurance, vacation, sick, and personnel days. Full time Randolph County employees earn benefits in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund. This is a non-union administrative position working as an appointed official with the Randolph County Board of Commissioners.
