Third Death Connected to Synthetic Cannabinoids
SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is reporting the death of a third individual who experienced severe bleeding after using synthetic cannabinoids, often called Spice, K2, or fake weed. To date, 107 people in central Illinois and the Chicago area have experienced severe bleeding after using synthetic cannabinoids, including the three deaths.
The Randolph County Health Department is now accepting bids for cleaning services for the office located at 211 N Hasle Street, Sparta, IL 62286. The contract will run through November 30, 2020. Cleaning services expected weekly between 5 PM on Friday and 7 AM on Monday.

The Sparta Community Airport (KSAR) has been in existence for about 60 years, providing numerous benefits to the surrounding area- both in the aviation community as well as the non-flying public.
The businesses on the field help to support and grow the airport, and the airport helps to grow the businesses. Arch Air Ambulance has a helicopter base at the south end of the field, and provides life-saving services to the immediate area. Their geographic position in Sparta is critical to their response time to a patient, as well as their ability to access smaller hospitals in the region - and the larger facilities in St. Louis.
